Parliament Tour
We took a group of year 10 students from Dagenham Park C of E school and Goresbrook school to Parliament.
They found out who the first black British politician was and who the first woman was to enter Parliament. They also found out about the women that were tortured and killed before women were allowed to vote.
They now know the difference between House of Commons and House of Lords. This was a great experience as majority of them have never been to central London they also were interested in having a better understanding of the function of the government and how the country is run.
A few of them left feeling so inspired that they aspire to be future politicians. Special thanks to MP Jon Cruddas and Councilor Margaret Mullane for arranging this trip.
