Elevate Her UK x Barclays UK Aspire programme
In recognition of National Child Exploitation Awareness Week, we were honoured to partner with the Barclays UK Aspire programme to deliver a joint workshop at their headquarters in Canary Wharf, London. This powerful collaboration allowed us to engage directly with young people, equipping them with vital knowledge to protect themselves from the dangers of exploitation.
The workshop, attended by 16 to 18-year-olds from schools across East London, provided invaluable insights into the risks of exploitation and the practical steps young people can take to safeguard their futures. The session was met with enthusiasm, with participants finding the information both engaging and impactful.
At Elevate Her UK, we passionately believe that awareness and action are the cornerstones of addressing these critical issues. We are proud to be part of the ongoing conversation that empowers youth to make informed decisions about their safety and well-being.
We were also honoured to have Councillor Amar Virdee, Cabinet Member for Crime and Community Safety from @newhamlondon, join us for the session. His support underscores the vital role of community collaboration in tackling exploitation and ensuring the safety of young people in our area.
The workshop didn’t just focus on awareness; it also introduced participants to apprenticeship opportunities through the Aspire programme, offering them pathways to gain valuable work experience and build their futures.
Together, we are taking important steps to ensure a safer and brighter future for the next generation, fostering an environment where young people can grow, thrive, and make empowered choices for themselves.
